First edition of the first anthology of the Devětsil (the association of the Czech avant-garde artists, was founded and led by Karel Teige and it was active between 1920 and 1930). Although it contains illustrations, most of the book documents the writing of the Czech avant-garde artists, including the Devětsil manifesto. The content created mostly by the associated Czech poets and writers like Vítězslav Nezval, Jaroslav Seifert, Karel Teige, Karel Schulz, and other authors from the international scene.
