Ladislav Sutnar

Born in what was known as Bohemia (and later Czechoslovakia) Ladislav Sutnar was a graphic designer in both Europe and the United States. After being educated in Prague, he also taught there at the State School for Graphic Arts from 1923 to 1936. He was also part of the ”Cooperative Work“ Sutnar emigrated to New York in 1939, where he would spend the rest of his life working and publishing. He is known for his books: Visual Design in Action, Package design, and Controlled Visual Flow. He is also known for his work for book covers, Sweets, and addox.
