Marie Høeg was a Norwegian photographer based in Finland. Together with her partner Bolette Berg, she played a pivotal role in the emerging women's rights movement, founding several women-led organizations.
Marie began her career with a photography apprenticeship in Brevik in 1890. After completing her training, she moved to Finland to work as a professional photographer.
In 1895, after meeting her creative, business and romantic partner, Bolette Berg, the couple relocated to Horton, Norway, where they established a professional photography studio.
The Høeg & Berg studio primarily focused on landscape and portrait photography for souvenirs. However, In the 1980s, a private collection of over 400 of their photographs was published, featuring many staged scenes in which Marie and Bolette assumed the characteristics of male protagonists.
