An ad created for the Kuppenheimer clothing company, one of J.C. Leyendecker's most significant works. The men depicted in the painting closely resemble Charles Beach, one of Leyendecker's favorite models and presumed lover. Beach and Leyendecker spent much of their adult lives living together, and after Leyendecker's death in 1951, Beach inherited half of his fortune. (ss)
