This postcard “Prosit Neujahr!”, which translates to “cheers to the
New Year” was designed by Maria Likarz-Strauss for the Wiener Werkstätte around 1910 and made by screen printing the bold, colorful and stylized festive motif on paper.
Between 1907 and 1920, the Wiener Werkstätte produced more than 1,000 different postcards, created by many prominent artists, designers, and craftsmen associated with the movement. The series became an essential part of the Werkstätte's commercial output, offering an affordable, accessible form of art to the public.
